The Mischief Makers at the Tantrum Theatre
Much Ado About Nothing
directed by Johanna Pinzler
July 29th – 31st, 2016
Young lovers Hero and Claudio are to be married in one week. To pass the time, they conspire with Don Pedro to set a lover’s trap for Benedick, an arrogant confirmed bachelor, and Beatrice, his favorite sparring partner. Meanwhile, the evil Don Jon conspires to break up the wedding by accusing Hero of infidelity. In the end, though, it turns out to be much ado about nothing.
“Not only Shakespeare lovers should go see Mischief Makers’ performance of Much Ado. Great interpretation and so much fun! Terrific performances by the cast. Not a weak one in the bunch. Oh and did I say, so much fun! Congratulations to Mischief Makers for a great first show” – T.G.
“Just saw “Much Ado About Nothing”! I loved it! What a fun, fresh take on Shakespeare! I loved the contemporary touches: the bad guys dressed in leather and heavy metal T-shirts, the Beatles songs played at the party, etc. The cast was excellent – so funny and likable and had GREAT chemistry, especially the bickering-yet-in-love Beatrice and Benedick. All of the actors were so talented. The highest praise I can give it is that I never studied this play and didn’t know much about it, yet the actors were so natural, I understood everything that was going on and was totally entertained and cracking up the whole time. Such a fun and entertaining production! Looking forward to more from this awesome new theater company!” – T.R.
“I had the pleasure of seeing Much Ado About Nothing tonight, what a great show! Congratulations to all!!” – E.M.
“What a fantastic show! Everyone did a great job. Made me like Shakespeare.” – J.S.
