Texas native Jillian Cox has been teaching for the last 8 years, specializing in musical theatre and vocal instruction. Focusing on both healthy vocal technique and electric performance skills, Ms. Cox’s students have seen success on professional stages across the country. As a performer, she brings “a powerhouse soprano voice to the operatic stage, from Puccini-esque angst to sly musical comedy shenanigans”. Jillian has been engaging concert audiences throughout the world. As a versatile crossover artist, Ms. Cox is equally at home both on a musical theatre stage and the operatic stage. Some noteworthy performances include Carousel (Carrie Pipperidge), South Pacific (Nellie Forbush), The Light in the Piazza (Franca), Man of LaMancha (Aldonza), The Sound of Music (Mother Abbess), and High Hair and Jalapenos! (World Premiere). Operatic repertoire includes such roles as The Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Suor Angelica in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Monica in Menotti’s The Medium, the Sandman and the Dew Fairy in Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel, and the title role in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Patience.
