Emily has taught pop, musical theater, and classical vocal techniques for the past 18 years throughout Los Angeles, Orange County, and New York City. She is also a board-certified music therapist and is currently under supervision to be a licensed creative arts therapist (LCAT limited permit).
Emily’s students have established careers on and off-Broadway, at the Metropolitan Opera, on national tours, on TV and film (one Emmy winner!), and as recording artists. Her audition prep students have gained entrance into Laguardia High School (the “Fame” school), PPAS, Frank Sinatra, Murrow, and other exceptional music institutions throughout the United States. She has current college students studying musical theater and voice at Berklee Conservatory, NYU, Rutgers, and other prestigious conservatories throughout the country.
Teaching specialties include: pop belt technique, classical/operatic technique, increasing vocal range, improving pitch and tone, coaching audition repertoire, “mix” voice, vocal rehabilitation, and individuals with special needs or on the autism spectrum. She has studied with Matthew Anchel (famed opera singer/Tik Tok star), Don Lawrence (Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Steven Tyler), Melissa Cross (the famed “scream queen”), and Tyler Wysong (Youtube “mix voice” expert). Emily holds a Master’s degree in Classical Voice from the Manhattan School of Music as well as a Master’s degree in Music Therapy from SUNY New Paltz.
