Year after year we nourish and encourage that seed to grow, and each year we watch the harvest take place as our students step onto the Tantrum Theater stage and perform. But the seed within each of us also needs to be nurtured, and what better place to do it than right here where so much magic takes place.
In an actors’ life you come across many talented people. There are some you are immediately drawn to, maybe because of their talent, or their personality (or perhaps both) and you remember that person … Read More »

Brooklyn women shone bright on Wednesday, March 16 as 34 of the borough’s successful entrepreneurs, business owners and community leaders were honored at Star Network’s 2016 Power Women in Business Awards and Networking Event. Held at the always extravagant Grand Prospect Hall, the evening’s honorees, exhibitors and guests dined, danced and donated the night away, at an event that spotlighted some extraordinary ladies and the causes they hold dear.
Among those ladies was our very own Roberta Loew!
Ms. Loew has been the co-owner and creative director for Acting Out, a Brooklyn based acting and vocal performance school for kids and teens, since 2005. In 2010 the business outgrew its location and needed a new venue. When she and her business partner husband were toiling around ideas on where to move the business places like Manhattan had came up and Roberta, who grew up in Bensonhurst Brooklyn … Read More »
Julia Ecock and Alexis Taliento have both been Acting Out students for years! They both studied with us to get into Mark Twain JHS 3 years ago (and got in!), and studied with us again this year to get into the top performing arts High Schools of their choice (and got in!) so it’s no surprise that Mark Twain had a tough decision to make when casting their lead in this year’s production. We’re so proud of the both of you! You each brought your own style and flair to Sally Bowles, and both rocked the role!
Acting Out is preparing some wonderful and creative summer camps for 2013! We’re offering choices ranging from a five week musical theater boot camp to a two-week creative playwriting workshop. Check out our summer schedule page for more details.
Acting Out! is on Facebook and we really want you to join us there! Tell your friends — we’ll be offering up from acting tips, sharing class details, fun photos and more.
