Please Note: Acting Out is closely monitoring state guidelines for re-opening in person classes. As of now we are proceeding with virtual classes for the month of July. However, should guidelines change that allow for classes to be held at our studio we will amend our schedule accordingly to offer both in-person and virtual summer camps. We thank you for your continued dedication and perseverance during this unprecedented time.

Week 1: June 29 - July 3

Oh! The Places You’ll Go

Like Dr. Seuss says “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”Join us for this one week Dr. Suess adventure! Campers will create their own Suess-inspired characters, write a nonsensical script with meticulous mentors, and rehearse a showstopping Seuss Spectacular all within 5 days!

Time: 9:00 am – 10:00 am
Age Range: 5-6

I Know Everything!

Does your love of theatre know no bounds? Then this variety camp is perfect for you. In our week-long session, each and every day we will focus on a different theatrical performance-related skill. On our final day each camper will get to choose something they have learned and share it in a cabaret. So whether you’re a future leading lady, executive producer, or technical whiz, come and explore a world of possibilities.

Broadway Workshop – Aladdin

In this two day camp, Angelo Soriano will take you on a magic carpet ride! Campers will learn scenes and songs from the show Aladdin, as well as be able to ask any questions they have to an in the business professional.

Story Explorers

In this week long camp, we will be creating a show from scratch, from a book!  After warming up our bodies, voices, and imaginations with theatrical games,  we will read the story aloud, which will help to inspire our characters that we will be creating. This camp will provide a great way for children to begin incorporating dramatic arts into storytelling.

Super Scripted Storytelling

In this week long camp, campers will begin to learn creative ways of bringing the page to life and building confidence. After warming up our bodies, voices, and imaginations with theatrical games,  we will read the story aloud, which will help to inspire our characters that we will be creating into an end of week performance. This camp will provide a great way for children to begin incorporating dramatic arts into storytelling.

Make Me a Youtuber

Does your kid like to watch Youtube and long to be the one in front the the camera? Then this is the camp for you! Students will learn skills to look their best and create professional videos. They will be given prompts as challenges to come up with creative content and share in class. May the best have the most views!

Week 2: July 6 - July 10

Under the Sea

Calling all musical mermaids and talking sea creatures! Join us for this one week Under the Sea adventure! Campers will create nautical characters, write a script, rehearse and perform an Under the Sea Spectacular all within 5 days!

Ever thought that you might be better at making fun of movies than you would be acting in them? Are you incredibly good at doing other people’s voices? Is it your dream to write your own comedies? In this fun and fast-paced camp, students will learn skit writing and improv skills, just like the pros on Saturday Night Live!

Time: 11:30 am – 12:30 am
Age Range: 9-15

Broadway Workshop – Wicked

Calling all witches- good and bad! This two day workshop will teach your camper all about what it’s like in the Emerald City. Come join Corey Mach as he teaches songs and scenes from the show Wicked.

On Our Way to Broadway!

This camp is all about variety! In our week-long session, campers will learn skill-building, where every day we will focus on a different theatrical performance-related skill. The Musical Monologue

In this camp, we’re looking at Musical Theatre from the acting perspective! Students will choose songs to their liking and work on reciting them as a monologue. They will also work on creating a character and backstory for their monologue and present in a small performance during the final class.  This camp is great for the aspiring singer that wishes to help hone their acting skills!

Broadway Workshop – Matilda

Be a revolting child with us! Join Justin Packard from Matilda the Musical for an exclusive Acting Out workshop! Students will learn musical numbers from the hit Broadway show Matilda taught by one of the shows stars. No prior experience is needed, all are welcome to come and join the fun!

Week 3: July 13 - July 17

Take Flight with Mary Poppins

What’s that in the sky? A bird? A plane? A NANNY?! Prepare to take flight in our Mary Poppins themed camp. Campers will create fantastical characters, write a Poppin’s inspired script, rehearse and perform the show all within 5 days!

Pirate Adventure

Shiver me timbers! Calling all swashbucklers, buccaneers, and bandits! If ye be a pirate at heart, then this camp is for you! Immerse yourself in a seven seas adventure where you will create your own captain character, write an epic pirate adventure, rehearse and perform the show all within 5 days!

Step Into the Spotlight

Have you ever wanted to step out on the stage but are unsure where to start? Are you searching for the tools to help you get out there into the wonderful world of theatre and performance? Well, look no further than Step into the Spotlight! In this week long camp, students will learn the fundamentals of acting, gain confidence in public speaking, and collaborate with like minded students to create a show that will be performed at the end of the week!

I Can Craft Too!

Does your kiddo love to make masks or design clothes? Then this is the camp for you! In this one-week session, we will focus partly on performing and the other part on the many creative aspects of theater. Each day, your camper will spend some time doing a crafting project like designing a costume, making a set piece, decorating a mask or making a prop. Then, we will take these designs and incorporate them into a final performance at the end of the week. You can craft, too!

Intro to Shakespeare

Welcome to the Renaissance! In this week long session, campers will begin to be exposed to the world of The Bard, scratching the surface of his many comedies and tragedies. Campers will be exposed to Iambic Pentameter and how to recite Shakespeare, as well as choose a monologue to study and work on during the week.

Week 4: July 20 - July 24

Rockstars & Divas

Calling all powerhouse performers! If you are a rockstar in the making, then this camp is for you! Campers will learn the skills necessary to break the mold and become the Divas and Rockstars they were born to be! Campers will work together with their “bandmates” to create a show with their own rock personas that they will star in at the end of the week!

Rockin’ On Broadway

Calling all powerhouse performers! If you are a rockstar in the making, then this camp is for you! Campers will learn the skills necessary to break the mold and become the Divas and Rockstars they were born to be! Finding Your Voice: Voiceover

In this week long workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of voiceover work! Students will record a combination of advertisements, cartoon and video game voice work. At the end of the week long session, students will have a short reel to use for auditions. This camp is great for the aspiring voiceover artist!

Musical Theatre Boot Camp

Our Musical Theatre Boot Camp has been a huge success year after year! This intensive class will explore your greatest strengths and your deepest fears. We will work on all phases of performance to help round you into the complete performer you long to be. Fairy Tale Class

Princesses! Superheroes! Pirates! In this camp students ages K-1 will use story-telling, costume creation, and basic acting to focus on bringing their favorite fairy tales to life. Class will culminate in a sweet performance of skills learned for family and friends.

Intro to Acting Class

This is a great starter class for students who are looking to get their acting legs. Using acting games, improvisation and basic movement and vocal exercises students will gain an understanding for what the world of acting is all about. A great class to help kids feel comfortable working in an ensemble while finding their own voice.

*If you’re looking at having your child audition for a Performing Arts Junior High School (Mark Twain, Bay Academy, P.P.A.S., etc) we highly suggest taking this class over the summer to get a head start.

Film and T.V.

Students will gain confidence in front of the camera, know what to expect in the audition room and how to prepare for TV/Film and Commercial auditions. This class will cover everything from the basics of slating to making bold, complex choices on-camera.

Calling All Characters

Always wanted to play your favorite cartoon, movie or story character? Well then this is the camp for you! In this camp students ages 7-8 will use aspects of story-telling, personality building and basic acting to focus on bringing their favorite characters to life. Class will culminate in a short performance of skills learned for family and friends.
