Roberta is named a Power Woman in Business!

power womanBrooklyn women shone bright on Wednesday, March 16 as 34 of the borough’s successful entrepreneurs, business owners and community leaders were honored at Star Network’s 2016 Power Women in Business Awards and Networking Event. Held at the always extravagant Grand Prospect Hall, the evening’s honorees, exhibitors and guests dined, danced and donated the night away, at an event that spotlighted some extraordinary ladies and the causes they hold dear.

Ms. Loew has been the co-owner and creative director for Acting Out, a Brooklyn based acting and vocal performance school for kids and teens, since 2005. In 2010 the business outgrew its location and needed a new venue. When she and her business partner husband were toiling around ideas on where to move the business places like Manhattan had came up and Roberta, who grew up in Bensonhurst Brooklyn quickly jumped on the idea of having the school right in her own neighborhood! She has guided the business from its early beginnings with one class and a handful of vocal students to what has become the premier location in Brooklyn for acting and singing training.
Hundreds of kids each year attend her school for a variety of reasons. Many have graced Broadway stages, starred in both independent and commercial films, and attended many of New York’s prestigious performing arts schools. While Ms. Loew enjoys helping these children attain their dreams, her greatest satisfaction comes from helping the shy, quiet children find their voice, donating shows to charities and giving scholarships.
Before starting Acting Out Ms. Loew spent many years as a singer and performer, appearing on stages from New York to Las Vegas. Her powerful vocals have been heard in such places as the Nassau Coliseum, The Chicago Amphitheater and the Atlantic City Convention Center. She is a determined and passionate woman, who cares deeply about all her students, her work, and her family. In her spare time Roberta has been working on writing a book for young children addressing issues with stage fright Called “The road to joyful performing”. You can frequently hear her motivating her students and telling them “Stay focused, work hard, and go be fabulous!”
