Emily Nicholas has taught voice and acting for the past eight years throughout Los Angeles, Orange County and New York City. She holds a Master of Music degree from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music in Classical Voice, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance from Azusa Pacific University, and trained in the Musical Theater department at Otterbein College. She has studied with Don Lawrence (Lady Gaga, Mick Jagger, Christina Aguilera, etc.) and Marilyn Horne (famed opera diva). She specializes in teaching musical theater, classical and pop belt techniques in a healthful way that improves each student’s unique vocal qualities. Miss Nicholas also teaches rehabilitation for the voice after vocal damage, Alexander, Feldenkrais, audition techniques, and song interpretation. She also teaches language diction in French, German, Latin, Spanish, and Italian music. She was the head vocal teacher in the “Integrated Arts” program at the Orange County High School for the Arts before moving to New York to pursue her Master’s degree. Her students have established careers at the Metropolitan Opera, various Broadway stages (“West Side Story”, “Lion King”, “Kinky Boots”, etc.), off-Broadway, and national tours. An experienced performer in her own right, Miss Nicholas continues to write her own music, and perform concerts and cabarets throughout the country.n addition to touring throughout the country and recording as Emily Danger, she has also been featured as an “Amy Poehler Smart Girl” and is the keyboardist for Dams of the West, fronted by Vampire Weekend’s Chris Thomson.
