The Broadway Stars to teach your Brooklyn Kids:
Lulu Lloyd is currently a cast member and the Assistant Dance Captain in the 4 time Tony nominated School of Rock on Broadway. Before that, Lulu was thrilled to be a part of the World Premiere of Bright Star (by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell) at The Old Globe. She has been seen Off-Broadway at The York Theatre, Playwrights Horizons and The New York Music Theatre Festival two years in a row. Regionally she has been seen as Judy in 9 to 5, Lucy in Jekyll and Hyde, Missy in The Marvelous Wonderettes, The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Lizzy in Baby among others. She is an Ovation Award nominee, Broadway World Critic Pick and a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association.
Douglas Lyons is a composer/lyricist and actor currently appearing in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical on Broadway. His favorite credits include Pageant, The Book of Mormon Broadway/1st Nat’l & tours of Dreamgirls and Rent. As a composer Douglas is half of writing team Lyons and Pakchar, who’s album #Love(Live) was nominated best live album of 2014 by Broadwayworld. . Their musical Five Points, which has been workshopped at Music Theatre Factory and The Labyrinth Theatre Co, was a Top 2 finalist for the 2016 New American Musical Award. Douglas’s originally conceived musical Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical, inspired by the stories of Ruby Bridges and The Little Rock 9, is getting multiple productions all over the country in 2016.
Monette McKay is a New York native and Broadway artist/activist who has been working professionally for years. Her Broadway credits include Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, Memphis (2010 Tony-winning Best Musical), and Mamma Mia! Regional credits include: Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Kiss Me Kate! (U/s Lois Lane/Bianca), Human Race Theatre’s Crowns (Yolanda). TV: Law and Order: Criminal Intent, HBO’s The Night Of, and an upcoming Marvel Netflix series. Film: the upcoming indie film starring Keke Palmer entitled Pimp. Monette began as a dancer at an early age and realized her passion for theatre soon after. She loves to teach and inspire students of all ages to find their unique gifts and use them beyond the stage.
